The ALABAMA-MISSISSIPPI DISTRICT of Optimist International is an association of Optimist Clubs across the two states. Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. By providing hope and a positive vision, Optimist Club members bring out the best in kids.

You can do anything if you have enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes rise to the stars. With it, there is accomplishment. Without it there are only alibis”

Greetings Fellow Optimists!
It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through this Optimist year already! I want to thank each of you for your dedication to your respective clubs, your communities and to our district.

Now that we have entered the second half of the year, it is time to roll up our sleeves and go to work asking people to join us in our quest to serve youth. Currently, our district is at minus-51 members, so we need new members.

I want us to grow and to finish the year with a positive membership. We can be successful and have positive growth if we believe that we can and that we can be a greater partner in the communities we serve.

We have a remarkable team of Optimists to help us achieve our goals. It’s all about attitude and expectations. If we expect something good, it has a way of showing up.

It’s about believing in what you are doing regardless of the obstacles that may lie before you. Always remember, “Together We Can!”

Your Friend, Pam
