The Madison Optimist Club gave a generous donation to Madison City Schools tonight for school health clinic needs. Presenting the check to MCS Nursing supervisor Becky Tucker is Optimist Club officer Victor van Leeuwen. Hope Marshall was awarded the Optimist International resident's Citation by Vera Hendrix. She replied:
"I’m truly grateful to have received The Optimist International President's Citation! A big thank you to Vera for surprising me with this honor today. I love the Optimist Club and its mission and am so proud to be involved in an organization that makes such a positive difference in our community. Our chapter is full of amazing men and women that go above and beyond for the good of Talladega and the surrounding areas and its a privilege to be a little part of it!

Optimist Club of Perry County, AL
The Alfred G. Adams Jr. Optimist Club Sight Word Bingo with the Robert C. Hatch Saturday Learning students from grades 1-3 during 20 minutes of their Saturday Learning Session. Students recognized and read sight words to build confidence in reading and to encourage more complex text. Students won prizes during the game and had fun while learning. This is one the many multi-sensory games that will be played with the school's K-3 grades..

The Leland Optimist Club members are proud to present their VERY FIRST WINNERS of their essay contest. From Leland High School we have LA’Kya PERKINS and from Deer Creek School we have MARIE SHAW. The young women were presented certificates and checks by Hardie Frankel at our April meeting.Linda Servadio served as chairman of this committee. Celebrating a five-year partnership with delivery of Secret Meals boxes from the West Alabama Food Bank to schools in Tuscaloosa Alabama. Members of the Metro Optimist Club of Tuscaloosa deliver one hundred seventy meals every week to four different schools.
